MARKS & SPENCER
In August 2015 we secured the contract to supply Marks & Spencer with Preventative and Corrective Maintenance at their main distribution centre in Castle Donington, one of the largest warehouses in the UK at just over 1 million square foot. This site has circa 400 cameras and extensive Intruder Alarm and Access Control measures, all managed by our highly skilled Technical Security Division.
The site supports over 600 of their high street stores and their entire online market, relying on automated systems for moving goods around with very little human interference. Much of this is achieved by monitoring the automated systems with cameras and sensors, which are included in our maintenance remit.
We initially had to repair the system before their peak period (September – December) and did such a great job that they were issue-free for the entire period. This included taking over from the incumbent maintenance company, learning and troubleshooting the existing system (Axxonsoft) and introducing new working procedures to streamline reporting and recovery processes and make the system more efficient.
The incumbent system was riddled with faults and was failing on a daily basis, running on average at between 40-50% efficiency. Many of the cameras monitor work flow and are crucial to the output of the site, so our priority was to get the system fully operational in a very short period of time – just before their peak period running up to Christmas. Within two weeks we stabilised the system, which has been running at over 95% efficiency ever since.
UNIVERSITY OF NORTHAMPTON
Since August 2017 we have been performing system maintenance on the University of Northampton sites to optimise and manage a large, multi-site integrated security system.
We provide periodic preventative maintenance to cover the entirety of their system, including CCTV, Access Control, Access Barriers and Intercoms. This is supported by a 24/7/365 corrective maintenance service, providing engineers on a call-out basis to repair any faults that occur.
We have already been able to optimise the current system through programming and fault-finding exercises, allowing the security teams to utilise the technology to enhance their own provision.
Our high levels of service have led to numerous small-scale installations, along with a large-scale CCTV installation project in the halls of residence.
